The GST Network is bringing in the Invoice Management System (IMS) from 1st October 2024 to simplify compliance for taxpayers.

🔹 What is IMS?

IMS allows recipients to accept, reject, or keep supplier invoices pending through the GST portal. It helps resolve mismatches and simplifies the process of claiming Input Tax Credit (ITC).

🔹 How It Works:

-Suppliers file invoices in GSTR-1 by the 11th of each month.

-Recipients can take action (accept/reject/pending) on these invoices before filing GSTR-3B.

-If no action is taken, the system will automatically deem the invoice as accepted.

🔹 Implications of Accept, Reject, Pending:

âž¡ Accept: The invoice is added to the recipient's ITC statement (GSTR-2B), enabling seamless ITC claims.

âž¡ Reject: The invoice is excluded from the ITC statement, requiring further clarification with the supplier.

➡ Pending: The invoice is carried forward to the next month’s GSTR-2B, allowing flexibility in managing ITC.

This will streamline recipient taxpayers' Input Tax Credit (ITC) availing process.
